1928 - 2021
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our Dad and family Patriarch, in the early morning on February 25,2021, at CH-Marguerite-Adam in Old Beloeil at 92 years of age. He took his last ‘skate’ on this mortal coil to be with his beloved wife Frances (nee Glive), who passed away on April 16, 2020. They would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on June 20th.
Born in Montreal, son of the late Catherine Mullan and late Patrick Monaghan. Loving father to Barry (Karen), Glen and Mark (Joanne). Grandpa to Meaghan, Sean and Madison.
He will be profoundly missed as a cherished husband, loving father and grandfather, loyal friend, and supportive teammate. Survived by his brother Desi (Ruth), many nieces and nephews and extended family, friends and teammates. Predeceased by his sister Geraldine, brothers; Leo, John and Kevin.
Patrick established a career from very humble beginnings in the mail room of B/A, British American Oil. He advanced and remained as the company became Gulf Canada and then Ultramar where he retired. Paddy’s passions included his family, friends and hockey, especially his beloved Boston Bruins.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the CHSLD CH-Marguerite-Adam as well as a very special thank you to his primary caregivers Eric and Olimpia (Dad’s favourite).
A Celebration of Life for both Mom & Dad will be arranged at a later date when we can all be together safely.
