Mae (ELLEFSEN) CLEGG
1933 - 2022
On Wednesday, June 8th 2022, at home in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec.
Born in 1933, Mae was the daughter of the late Aksel and Ruth (Abelson) Ellefsen. Throughout her life she was a teacher, sports enthusiast, Guide leader and community volunteer.
A graduate of MacDonald College (McGill) she worked as a teacher until the birth of her children. She was active in sports as a basketball player as well as in softball and cycling. For many years Mae was involved in Guiding and was a respected Guide leader. Very active in her church and as a community volunteer, she coordinated monthly “Golden Agers” luncheons, visited and served many people and lovingly cared for her family and friends.
She will be missed and remembered by her children Julie (Bill) Russell and Eric (Sarah) Clegg, her grandchildren Sarah (Andrew), Martha (Rob), Hannah (Justin), Moriah (Adam), Christopher and Amanda, her great-grandchildren Jude and Rachel as well as her many extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony in 2008 as well as her brother and sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 15th, 2022 at Mountainview Community Church, 600 rue Mountainview, Otterburn Park, Quebec at 1:00 pm with visitation at the church starting at 12 noon.
