Brenda MANN

Send my condolences to the family of Brenda Mann

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Brenda Suzanne Mann, who, at the age of 57, lost her long battle with cancer on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. She leaves behind her son, Timothy (Jenna-Lee), and daughters, Kimberlee (Derick) and Kellilyn (Alexander), as well as her 3 grandchildren, West-Lee, Castiel, and Terri-Lyn. Brenda is survived by her mother, Georgina (Georges), her father, Stephen (Alice), and her brothers, James (Tara), Ronald (Karen), David (Shannon) and Jeffrey (Kelly). Also, left to remember her love, are her husband, William, and step-children, Zachary, Rochelle, Xavier, and Meghan.

Brenda was born April 17th, 1960 in Edmonton, Alberta, but growing up in a military household, moved around for the majority of her early years. She finally settled down in Kapuskasing, Ontario, in her adolescence, but at the age of 19, decided to leave to go to the Big City of Montreal, Quebec. It is there that she met her first husband, Peter, and started her family. She lived for her children, and later on her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.

Brenda was a passionate woman with many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed drawing and painting, was a nature enthusiast and thus took great pleasure in gardening, hiking and horseback riding. She also thrived for excitement, continuously searching for new thrills. Although Brenda loved all these things, her greatest passion in life was bringing joy and happiness to everyone she met. Her smile could light up a room and her laugh was contagious and could be heard from a mile away. Brenda tended to attract the misfits; her house was a haven for the wayward and lost. She seemed to sense when something was bothering one of her “children” and her first reaction was to brew a cup of tea, pull up a chair, and delve into the problem head first. She spent her life helping as many people as possible, in any way that she could.

Brenda now sets out onto her next adventure, where she joins her first child, Erin (1983-2002). Brenda will be greatly missed by all who knew her, even those whose path she crossed just briefly, as she was the definition of friendship, grace, and unconditional love. She loved big, and with everything she had. To honour her memory and celebrate her life, family, friends, and others whose lives Brenda touched are invited to St. Paul’s Anglican Church located at 321 Empire in Greenfield Park, on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Guests are welcome to come pay their respects between 12:00 and 2:00, and the service will begin at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation (www.rubanrose.org).

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.
